Senator Linda Stewart has spent her personal life and political career working to make her community better. She currently serves Florida’s 13th Senate District. As a Senator, Linda provides strong, honest leadership for Orange County and central Florida and focuses on improving our local economy, public schools, women’s rights, combating climate change, and ensuring equality for all of her constituents. Prior to her time in the Florida Senate, Linda served in the Florida House of Representatives, and on the board of County Commissioners for Orange County.
Before beginning her political career, Linda was an active and engaged public servant in her community. She was previously Board Chair of Orange County Parks and Recreation and has been in a wide variety of local Orlando and Orange County organizations.
Her outreach also went beyond local issues: Linda received the Sierra Club Commissioner Leadership Award for her efforts fighting climate change. She was also honored with the Voice of Equality Award and the Downtown Woman of the Year Award for her efforts in championing women’s equality. Linda has also been active for many years in numerous philanthropic efforts in her community fighting for the LGBTQ community, the homeless, and mental health.
In her capacity as state senator, Linda looks forward to continuing her lifelong work for families, jobs, and opportunity in Tallahassee. She will continue to fight for every resident of her district and all Floridians.
